The University of Manitoba is the province's largest university, with more than 90 degree programs offered across all faculties. The university, located in the south end of the city, is home to Manitoba's only law school, accredited MBA program, engineering faculty, and more. There are a number of research laboratories active on campus, from mechanical, to electrical and computer engineering. A full list of faculties for the university can be found here. The University of Winnipeg, located on a sprawling campus downtown, offers a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate degrees, including a Masters in Management program with focus on technology, innovation, and operations. Other notable degrees include the Master in Applied Computer Science, and BA/BSc in Information Systems.
In the last ten years the university has invested over $200-million in new developments like Richardson College for the Environment & Science Complex, Axworthy Health and RecPlex, McFeetors Hall: Great-West Life Student Residence, and Buhler Centre, home to the Faculty of Business and Economics.
Université de Saint Boniface (USB) is the only French-language university in Manitoba and the first post-secondary educational institution to be established in Western Canada. Located in the community of St. Boniface in the heart of Winnipeg, it offers degree programs as well as graduate programs in education and Canadian studies. USB is affiliated with the University of Manitoba and offers University of Manitoba degrees.
Canadian Mennonite University (CMU), founded in 2000, offers accredited 3 and 4 year Bachelor and Graduate degrees in a variety of fields, as well as pre-professional programs for further studies. Formally supported by Mennonite Church Canada and the Mennonite Brethren Church of Manitoba, the university welcomes students from many backgrounds and denominations. The 44 acre campus is located in southwest Winnipeg.
Red River College (RRC) is the largest and most comprehensive applied learning institute in the province. With a commitment to staying current and responsive to the demands of the marketplace, RRC graduates have achieved a 95 per cent employment rate post-graduation. Notable initiatives are the Exchange District Innovation Centre, Stevenson Campus: Centre for Aerospace Technology & Training, Centre for Non-Destructive Inspection, and the Creative Arts Department (creative communications, graphic design, digital media design, 3D computer graphics, deaf studies, library and information technology, and technical communication).
The Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology (MITT) provides secondary and post-secondary students with applied skills training. MITT's mandate includes responding directly to Manitoba's labour market needs. MITT offers a full list of programs.
